Bank Competition this Sunday!
Location is Bollingbrook, IL (directions via link below)
Competitors draw is at 7 a.m. Competition runs 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Fans/Observers & Club Members
Show up between 12 & 2 p.m. for a peek at competitive bank angling. This is real exciting stuff at times. Watch up and down the anglers on the bank as they focus, hook and land big fish. Total weight wins.

DO: Come see the longest pole you have ever seen! 42' long pole in action.
DO: Wear green & Brown
DON'T wear bright colors such as orange, yellow or white
DO: Take notes for after the competition
DON'T Approach too close to anglers as you can scare fish away/stop a bite in progress

Event details coming soon. Let's just say it was tough to get a bite. A full update will follow. To give you an idea of what this 6-hour competition was like, in the first two hours, my line moved one time. As I was fixed on my bite indicator and the water, I can't speak for the rest of the field, but I think all of the lines were still for hours! We call this pace a grinder and the anglers that concentrate the most, can be rewarded with a fish to place them high in the standings. This type of event, also breaks many anglers with the lack of action.

I'll be running a 5K that day. The water should be up for the contest, assuming about the t-storms that are forecast Thur & Fri happen. Then again given the track record of the weather eejots it may not rain at all.
